In 1993, an idea was born to open an antiques center where there once was a Safeway. After months of construction, on May 1st we opened the doors of Mechanicsville Antiques Mall. The layout of the Antiques Mall was quite simple, 6 main aisles, each aisle has generally 14 booths, and each booth is approximately 10 X 12 feet. We started off with ten dealers, willing to take this journey with us. By September of that same year, the Antiques Mall was full to capacity. Our customers came from up and down the East Coast. Pretty impressive considering this was a pre -Internet world.
In 2000, the Antiques and collectable market was changing due to the surge in internet use. We decided to change our focus from a full service Antiques Mall to a weekend Flea Market. By 2009, we were getting feedback from our customers and some of our dealers that they wanted something more of a hybrid. Little by little, we started changing our focus again. By 2012, we rebranded our logo (with the help of the wonderful people at Itty Bitty Press), changed our name, and now we have a Website!!
Our dealers are some of the best in the area. They are passionate about their booths. For most of the dealers, they really enjoy the customer interaction, and the thrill of the hunt!!
